Wengen is one of Switzerland’s best-known ski resorts, most famous for hosting World Cup downhill and slalom races on the Lauberhorn every January. It is an excellent base for exploration of the Lauterbrunnen area. A very popular trip is the Jungfraubahn which takes you through a tunnel in the mountains above Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch - 3454m above sea level. A great view can be had from the top of the Schilthorn, home to the highest revolving restaurant in the world! At 2970m, the viewing area offers excellent views of the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau, as well as many other peaks.

Aspen founded as a mining camp in the Colorado Silver Boom and named because of the abundance of aspen trees in the area, the city is now a ski resort and an upscale tourist center. In the late 20th century the city developed as an off-beat haven for celebrities, attracting .
You can see the John Denver Park - it is a pleasant place to take your dog or your kids for a splash in the creek in summertime - or the Maroon Bells, one of the most photographed mountain scenes in Colorado.

Located in the heart of the Dolomites in an alpine valley, Cortina is a popular winter sport resort known for its ski-ranges, scenery, accommodations, shops and après-ski scene.In summer you may well find all camp sites full . Amongst the more famous mountains to south are the Cinque Torri, a fine group of extraordinarily shaped boulders on a mountain in a more or less straight line so that from a distance they may be thought to resemble a row of towers. A chair lift makes this superb viewpoint accessible to anybody, though only climbers can enjoy some of the attractions.
